We've all noticed it. We grew up with this movie; many of us listened to the double record set enought times that it's been memorized.
Why then, is the DVD version of this classic animated film (that we've waited for so long) missing so much of its critical sound-effects???

What can be done? Can you repress this disc with the corrected soundtrack?
My vote would be for a 20/48 kHz PCM mono soundtrack for optimum fidelity. In any case, the VHS version is done right. Why can't the DVD version be at least as good?
