I see that Rush Hour 2 will have a DTS-ES 6.1 track on it. Anyone know if they are finally starting to support DTS or is this just another 'deal' they have with DTS for a few select titles?

First of all let me clarify something.
Rush Hour 2 is not a film from Warner but from New Line Cinema.
Warner has no direct saying what happens to this movie on dvd.
Warner does however announced one new dts dvd namely American Outlaws.
    Why ??
    We don't know.
I think this will be a question to be asked when Warner comes to chat with us all.
    Untill then who knows.....

We can only hope that Warner will release dvds with DTS (the superior surround format) on more titles. L

In the US, New Line is distributed by Warner Brothers and is also marketed by them. That may not be the case overseas.
    On topic
I am sure that many HTF members will ask about DTS support during the WB chat. I hope WB will now view DTS as a value added feature that will increase sales.

    John:
I know that Warner is distributing New Line Cinema in The States.
But that does not mean that they have control over what will be on a dvd from New Line.
If New Line wants dts on it it will happen even if Warner does not want that.
Warner gets fees for distribution and for nothing else.
The initial topic was is WARNER releasing titles with dts.
I answered that Rush Hour was not a Warner title but a New Line release.
You don't see the Warner logo on Rush Hour being presented
so therefore it is not Warner.
Warner has now announced American Outlaws which is a Warner title with dts being released on December 04th.
Now the real question is is Warner going to do dts on their own dvd-releases.

    Yikes!
I was only trying to put a little information out there. You don't have to bite my head off. How was I supposed to know that you are better informed than most video store employees? [IMG]
