Warner Brothers chat POSTPONED at final hours: Our apologies! (1 Viewer)

Many of you who packed yourselves in the chat
room this evening were probably surprised to
see that we had to postpone the Warner Home
Video live chat.
Before any misinformation gets posted, let
me explain what had happened.....
I received a phone call from Paul Hemstreet
of Warner Brothers at 9pm EST. They could not
connect to the webside.
We suspect the studio firewall is the culprit.
They tried to connect through different computers
with the same error results.
It was decided mutually that the chat should be
postponed and we should try to do this again next
week or the week after.
So you know....
There were 5 of Warner's top Home Video people
in attendence. This included....
* George Feltenstein - Senior VP Marketing Turner Entertainment
* Mike Finnegan - Vice President of Editorial & Programming services
* Paul Hemstreet - Vice President Special Features
* Michael Radiloff - Vice President DVD Marketing
* Kristin Grosshandler - Manager DVD Special Features
All of them expressed their disappointment and
have agreed to come back either next week or soon
thereafter.
Please let us all remain polite to these people that
made a great effort to make this chat special and
have opted to return to talk to all of you.

Very glad to hear that George Feltenstein is in the pool at Warners. He was so influential with all the fantastic MGM musical LaserDisc releases a number of years back at MGM Home Video. Very encouraging sign.

I think it wasn´t only Warner who couldn´t
connect to your web site.
I tried several times during the evening.
The problem must have been your server.

I also tried to connect and was able to connect, but the server would not let me view the Home Theater Software forum. It would just hang and finally error out with a page not available message.
All the other forums were OK.

Everytime there is a HTF chat, I take the day off from work because the chat usually ends at 5:30 am here in England and last night I was up untill 3:00 am, Sure I was a little dissapointed but I am now looking forward to the chat again, So no problem Ron.

In the meantime, perhaps they could look at the Warner chat thread in the Studio and Manufacturer's feedback and reply to a few on that thread. It would get a lot of questions answered and out of the way so when it comes time to chat, the chat wouldn't be so overwhelming.

I spoke with Kirstin at Studio Day and she is SO NICE! We talked and she put up with me for about 20min. She told me some funny stories about recording the Goonies commentary and that they MIGHT be working on a SE for Heat. No promises though so dont freak out anyone.
Hope the chat is good. It should be.

We really want this chat to be spontaneous.
Just want to update you on the current situation...
Seems like the problems we had could have been
associated with Shadowfire on the IRC.
...so stop blaming Warner!
Parker is now talking to the tech people at
Warner and if all goes well, we expect a
rescheduled chat in 2 weeks.
