Sinne the std set was already $50 once albeit briefly, I suspect if stock is OK it will be soon again, possibly as early as 12/18.

BN 40% sale with typical 20-25% Xmas coupons would put it right in the $40 wheelhouse UNLESS they exclude certain items and/or coupons this sale. The coupon thing is so unpredictable from sale to sale with the 40% deal

The remastered "Batman Beyond" is coming to high-definition digital on October 15th and a limited edition Blu-ray on October 29th.

    Batman-Beyond-Box-Set.

41 episodes and the unrated cut of Return of the Joker are truly high definition. The earlier episodes were scanned from the original 35mm elements. The later episodes that were colored digitally have done back to the original digital scans of the line art.

The elements for the remaining 11 episodes were unusable due to "time-worn irreparable damage". They have been upscaled from standard definition (720x486) Digitabeta tapes. A lot of technology and effort was spent on maximizing clarity and color representation, however the deinterlacing process sacrificed some of the horizontal resolution. The affected episodes are:
    • 2x14 - Eyewitness
    • 2x15 - Final Cut
    • 2x16 - The Last Resort
    • 2x17 - Armory
    • 2x18 - Sneak Peek
    • 2x19 - The Eggbaby
    • 2x20 - Zeta
    • 2x21 - Plague
    • 2x22 - April Moon
    • 2x23 - Sentries of the Lost Cosmos
    • 3x06 - Speak No Evil
I'm guessing one of two things happened: Either they didn't save the high-definition scans for the first ten episodes that were colored digitally because they didn't foresee a market for 1080p, or the elements for those episodes were all stored together in one place and something that happened to them.

EDIT: IGN has a comparison of the remastered footage (left) and original footage (right):

Batman: TAS BR/Digital is currently selling for $43.99 at Amazon (according to CCC that's an all-time low). I checked all the usual suspects (BB, WM, Targer, DD) and it doesn't look to be a PM this time.

Great news on Batman Beyond coming to Blu Ray so quick after BTAS. I actually prefer Batman Beyond to BTAS

Gary "I saw a few BB episodes years ago when it aired, but for me it couldn't hold a candle to the original" O.
