Here is a link to a Warner Archive Video:
I saw the video on their FB page. Still no date though.
It's release date is June 11th.
The price link below will take you directly to the product on Amazon. If you are using an adblocker you will not see link.
The cover image is a Doug Wildey original.
Is Amazon not carrying this directly? Their price is about $8 more than Warner Archive. I find shopping with Amazon very frustrating these days.
It was there and was changed to "unavailable" when the release date wasn't stated by Warner. It'll be back... whether or not it'll at the current direct price or not is yet to be seen... Most Warner Archive BR titles at Amazon seem to go to ~30% off or more at some point before release and the pre-order price I have currently matches Warner's direct price ($29.99).
This one is very odd... I'm wondering if there's a manufacturing delay as deepdiscount shows its status as "backorder" (their price is currently $3 less than at Amazon or Warner). When Amazon changes their pre-order information to "unavailable" that's usually a good indication that's what's going on.
Quite a few people have received their orders from multiple retailers. It's pretty common that most WAC titles go on OOS/backorder at or right after release after the 1st batch of ready-to-go preorders are exhausted. Usually by the end of the week or early the next the orders open back up and site start shipping again -- except sometimes Amazon which sometimes finally ships their preorders and sometimes they have a much longer delay getting back up. Same thing happens often with the ALLIED Vaughn Sony and Universal MOD titles. The way A-V handles preorders./restocks seems to give Amazon fits.
Bullmoose had some copies yesterday for $25, but they're sold out as well.
I'm guessing by Friday or Monday things will work themselves out like usual with these MOD titles
Barnes & Noble even has a stranger pattern -- preorders happen like normal, but WAC titles on release day activate for live order, but aren;t available for Free Shipping for members like all other titles. Sometimes coupons work, sometimes not -- if you go through checkout it will list "Shipped from Barnes and Noble Specialty Stores" which I've never seen any other books or movies say. Within a few days, this will go away, Free Shipping will be offered and it will ship from B&N like everything else IF it's in stock at the ALLIANCE WAREHOUSE (Deep Discount, importcds, etc and most other ALLIANCE supplied clients all will normally change almost simultaneously from Backordered to InStock)
I'm not sure what BN Specialty Stores are -- it's not Marketplace or 3rd Party, but it seems to be specifically some sort of direct supply from Allied Vaughn Warehouse. I first started seeing this with WAC titles last summer.
Amazon is in some sort of dispute with WAC similar to their Disney dispute as all WAC blu rays since around February this year are delayed by them and no dates even though other retailers get them on release date and ship them. My Jonny Quest Blu Ray shipped from Deep Discount yesterday. Its probably on backorder because they didn't anticipate it selling as well as it did. But Wac will probably resupply them within a week. I stopped ordering WAC blu ray from Amazon until they get this sorted out. My February and March WAC orders from amazon didn't ship for 6 weeks after release.
It appears like the 2nd wave stock is coming up in stores now.
Walmart, Best Buy. Deep Discount among others stores all went from backordered or OOS to in-stock for ordering. It lloks like the restock
is happening a bit quicker this week so it's all good
B&N seemed to have it only only for $26.99 ...
True, but for now it's not available for member FS so add an extra $4. A 15 or 20% will pay for most of that, but hopefully overnight
it will change to regular stock and not this odd Specialty Store access,
In-store for ShiptoHome it;s $18 -- then 10% member, 15-20% coupon and Free Shipping so possible $13 which is my price to try for in store tomorrow IF it's still available at the Store Warehouse inventory. If no Thursday.at least by Monday
So... are these burned or pressed? I sent an email asking Warner's but got no response so far. I could not tell from the video.
Because in this day and age there would be a pathetic outcry on Twitter with no female, 3 white males and a token non-white male on the cover.
I thought it was well known that all of Warner Archive Blu-rays are pressed.
^^^ Perhaps, but not by me. DVDs I ordered have been burned and Warner told me they burn their DVDs when I asked them (I wanted to be sure I did not get pirated copies). I'm not sure if it is the same with Blu-Rays.
Warner Archive has always pressed their Blu-rays.
Ah... then I will go ahead with this. The burned DVDs I have from them play on my Oppo but do not play on my Denon DVD player. That is why I was concerned. Apparently burned discs may not play on all equipment.
B&N now has it from the main store and Free Shipping applies for members or $35 order.
15/20% codes also apply online,
In store -- order placed with 40% off Sale with 10%+20% coupon so -- $13+tax. This I can live with quite happily.
Popeye V2 and Gaslight also ordered for $12ea
Pulled my copy out of the mail (BestBuy preorder) as I was on my way to work. Will check it out when I get home in the AM. So excited by the youtube clip.
