I hope the Police Academy movies are released
individualy and box set to make all fans of this
series happy. I like the first and I really like
the second one. These are the only ones I want from the
series.

I love Hamlet, it's a great story.

Zeffirelli's version of Hamlet was filmed at Dunnottar Castle, which is near where I live. It is a striking location and was brilliantly utilised by Zeffirelli.

I heartily agree that Brannagh's version is long overdue on DVD. Hopefully, we will see it sometime next year.

Quite frankly, I'm surprised it's taken Warner this long to release all of the "Police Academy" films on DVD.

Would you believe that the entire series made approximately $237 million at the US box office? Of course that doesn't even take into consideration how much money it made for WB from home video sales either.

A few might want to make fun of "PA" but obviously *some* people liked them.

It's interesting to note that, beginning in 1984, Warner Bros. was cranking out a new Police Academy film off the assembly line every year throughout the 1980s.

Police Academy (1984)
Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment (1985)
Police Academy 3: Back in Training (1986)
Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987)
Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach (1988)
Police Academy 6: City Under Siege (1989)
Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow (1994)

The AR for all seven films is 1.85:1

David Graf (Sgt. Eugene Tackleberry) died April 7, 2001 after suffering a sudden heart attack while at a family wedding in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 50. (due to be 51 in just 9 days.)

IIRC, Parts 1-6 had theatrical runs, while Part 7 went directly to television or video.

IMO, some of the funniest stuff was the banter between G.W. Bailey (Capt. Harris), George Gaynes (Cmndt. Eric Lassard), and Lance Kinsey (Lt. Proctor)

Captain Harris: "Don't touch those! Don't you ever touch my balls without asking!"
