Well, for the second year in a row, I didn't get a question thru :-(

So, rather than mope, I thought why not start a thread for those in the same boat as myself and ask about titles I didn't see mentioned.

    For starters:

    Micky Rooney/Judy Garland movies
    Damn Yankees

(and thanks to those that asked about the That's Entertainment films, Bringing Up Baby, the Dark Shadows flicks and East Of Eden....)

I'd like to see a special edition of Risky Business, and a widescreen re-release of David Byrne's True Stories.

I was hoping to ask about future 'Golden Collection' releases, both Looney Tunes and Hanna Barbera.

Hopefully, there will be many more future releases.

had a bunch of problems with the chat software this time, but luckily, i think any titles i was interested in were addressed at some point by other people.

i think the only one i would have like to have heard some clairification on was the release of the tv show Dallas.

great news coming in this chat.
    thanks Warner-

if i had been able to get thru i would have mentioned how much i appreciate their use of the original key art on their jackets- a wonderful, respectuful touch, and i hope they always continue that tradition.

Wasn't it last year that the Warner folks said that the RKO library needed a lot of work? Could be a while before we see Fred and Ginger.

I'd like to know about the Monogram Charlie Chan films they own, they should get these out there! Allied Artist did long ago around the beginning of VHS< so they definitely got them.

    I Wanna Hold Your Hand.

-Flynn is coming in Q4 George, and i think they said Cagney shortly thereafter.

i'm surprised with all of the boxsets and collections that WB is putting out now, that they were (up till the chat last year) still nixing the idea of a Thin Man box set.
to me, thats a complete no-brainer.
it screams box set just as much as Tarzan or Marx Bros.
they did say more Thin Man film(s) were coming this year, so i still expect at least the first sequel to make it out in '04.
i wouldn't complain if they held off to release a box set with the rest in '05 though.

i would have liked to have asked about Double Wedding, myself.

    George,
I asked about Cagney and Flynn films and Warner stated they're working on dvd sets for both. Also, I've heard that the rest of the "Thin Man" films are in the pipeline.

I can't complain about the chat, lots of great titles mentioned. If I had to pick an area were I would have liked to have heard more about, it would be on films released from the late 60's to early 80's such as:

    Agatha
    Bye Bye Braverman
    Cincinnati Kid, The
    Far From the Madding Crowd
    Fine Madness, A
    Grand Prix
Heart is a Lonely Hunter, The
I Love You, Alice B Toklas!
    Ice Station Zebra
    Loved One, The
    Night Moves
    Performance
    Petulia
    Point Blank
    Prince of the City
    Reflections in a Golen Eye
    Ryan's Daughter
    Scarecrow
    Straight Time
    Subject Was Roses, The
    There Was a Crooked Man
    Whose Life is it Anyway
    Zabriskie Point

    Robert,

I realize they mentioned Flynn, Hitchcock, etc., and it probably includes those films, but if I could have asked more questions I would have directly asked about those films. [IMG] Still, I'm pretty damned optimistic about what's coming out from Warners.

I was hoping to ask about Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound. I know some people were hoping to hear about Hanna Baraba releases as well, outside of Flintstones/Jetsons/ScoobyDoo/Johnny Quest. Also, I am wondering if they are going to release more Space Ghost. I heard the sales weren't the greatest, but there no set coming out with Aqua Teen volume two.

Great chat! Can't add much, except to second Jay's plea for more of the late 60s-early 80s titles such as:

    Carny
    Personal Best
    Night Moves
    Petulia
    Straight Time
    Reckless (1984)
    Point Blank
    Prince of the City
    Dusty and Sweets McGee

One more call for the most often forgotten WB star of the 40s, John Garfield. How about some of these:

    Pride of the Marines
    The Breaking Point
    The Sea Wolf
    Four Daughters films
    Humoresque
    Dust Be My Destiny
    Saturday's Children
    The Fallen Sparrow
    Tortilla Flat

Double Feature along the lines of Jekyll & Hyde :
20,000 Years in Sing Sing / Castle on the Hudson. The earlier title features Spencer Tracy while the remake features Garfield.

How about the titles that were in last year's AOL poll which didn't come out in January. When will we see the rest of those?

..and don't use the audio from the previous DVD. It was almost mono! The previous LDs were far superior with true stereo effects and dialog. Give us the original 4.0 mix.
