so - the new 1080P pieces are being showcased @ CES this year, and yet again (like most people) I hesitate on buying a new TV/Monitor/Display because I hope for the latest/greatest at a good price...

but then I think, do I really NEED 1080p? heck, i haven't even jumped to DLP or LCD yet - I'm still using old 36" Tube technology, and not even a flat-tube!

of course, this question is entirely relative as to what one person perceives as 'good' or 'normal' at this level in Home Theater - but is there any valid reason to jump into this new format?

Todd, it depends on how much you want to spend. Like everything else, they will be very expensive for a while after they come out.
