Hi,
I'm interested in a used 5 or 7 channel surround sound receiver. Decoding formats are not necessary since I'm using it for music only.

I'm interested in a high quality unit that you don't need any longer (maybe because you need the newer formats). I'm looking to spend up to $150.

Thanks,
Tim

Tim, I have a Harman Kardon AVR-85 w/ 5 channels I would part with for $150 plus shipping. Let me know if you are interested.

Timothy, I have a Sherwood RD7106 that I bought at the end of 2001. It has 100w x 5 total discrete channels, Dolby Digital, DTS, Circle Surround, 4 audio/video inputs , 4 S-video inputs, 2 S-video out, 2 digital coaxial in, 2 digital optical coaxial in, four audio inputs, 6-channel direct input for DVD-Audio player, PRE-OUTS for all channels to add amplifier. This receiver is an excellent full-featured entry receiver with very neutral sound. I have been using this amp as a pre-amp and to drive the rear speakers, as I am driving the front and center speakers with separate amps.

There is a good review here from HomeTheater Magazine (you may need to cut & paste)

Here is the updated version of this receiver (Sherwood NewCastle R756). All the specs and connections are the same, except the R756 has the component inputs)

PM to you regarding the price I'm looking for.
