Sorry to hear about your fried modem. IMO the Tivo warranty (90 days) is insufficient for equiptment such as this. Me personally, I am on my 4th Tivo (2 fried modems and one blown color circuit). Fortunately for me, 2 of the Tivo units broke within the warrantee period. Actually, I am building a custom Tivo unit and am in need of the Tivo chassis to put additional components from my working, but physically damaged unit. How does $25 for the broken unit sound? What shape is it in? Is it a 14, 20, or 30 hr. unit?
