Conroy -- what other titles do you have that you want to get rid of? I'm always looking for more LDs.
I have a pan&scan Temple of Doom I'd be willing to trade, if you'd want that. I'd trade it straight up for BTiLC, since my ToD is p&s. Any more acronyms I can throw in there?
I live around Lawrence West station. I work in Oakville, but I'm sure we could figure out either a night or weekend meeting.
You interested in that p&s Temple of Doom? Yeah, I know, p&s sucks. It was a gift.
I finally found a widescreen Last Crusade -- I didn't buy it when it was new, and then I just could never find a copy at a reasonable price. Anyhow, a friend in Japan sent me one. Japanese subtitles, but on the lower letterbox bar, so no biggie.
For some reason, I'm not the biggest Temple of Doom fan, aside from the spectacular opening sequence at the club.
Here is the list I have available (LD) All are widescreen and I noted the DD(AC-3) ones
Jurassic Park ( no DD/DTS) The Crow The Killer (Criterion) Hard Boiled (Criterion) Lawrence of Arabia (Criterion) Resevoir Dogs The Terminator A Clockwork Orange Apocalypse Now The Thing Big Trouble In Little China Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn Usual Suspects The NightMare Before Christmas (DD) The X-Files( Fight The Future) (DD) Die Hard (dd) James And the Giant Peach (DD) Pulp Fiction Godfather (Remastered Widescreen DD) Godfather Part II(Remastered Widescreen DD)
I'd certainly be interested in James and the Giant Peach, A Clockwork Orange and maybe X-Files. What would you want for them? And what kind of stuff would you be looking for in the way of trades?
The Beatles on Ready! Steady! Go! (8-inch) Terminator 2 Special Edition box (widescreen, no DD) First Blood (widescreen remaster) Speed (widescreen THX, no DD) Twister CAV (widescreen THX DD) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (p&s) Dick Tracy's G-Men (Republic Serial, punch-out, cover rather beat up) Lion King (widescreen THX DD) The Making of a Legend: Gone With The Wind West Side Story (Criterion CLV) Theater of the Imagination (Criterion/Voyager - six hours of Orson Welles radio dramas)
I'm sure I have more that I'm willing to part with. I'll go through my shelves tonight and make a further list. Let me know if anything here piques your interest or you need any further info about any of them.
Just looking around at the store here, I also seem to have aquired A River Runs Through It (widescreen), Far and Away (widescreen), Shattered (edit: NOT widescreen, sorry, thought it was. No wonder I've never watched the disc) and some episodes of The Monkees TV series.
And a pile of movies from the 80s I've never heard of, all p&s. If you want me to list them, I will, but they seem pretty bottom of the barrel. For instance, there's Jack's Back, with James Spader, and something called Twisted Obsession with Jeff Goldblum. These are the things you accumulate when you buy someone's whole collection to get two discs.
OK, gonna make one big list including the stuff I've already mentioned, just for clairity's sake.
LDs:
Presumed Innocent (widescreen)
A Taxing Woman (full frame, english subtitles, mono)
Mad Dog and Glory (widescreen)
Kazaam (widescreen) -- I know, I know. It was a gag gift.
Ransom (widescreen, extended cut) -- is this available on DVD?
The Babe (John Goodman) p&s, sealed -- thought I was buying Babe, the talking pig movie, from an online clearance dealer
The Highlander 10th Anniversary (widescreen, THX, DD) -- has some candle wax on the cover
Pet Shop Boys: Performance (concert from the Behavior tour)
Far and Away (widescreen)

Into The Homeland (what the hell is this film? As far as I can tell, it was made for HBO. Anyways, it has C. Thomas Howell, Powers Boothe, Cindy Pickett and Paul LeMat in it! Talk about 80s power cast! )
Not much good stuff added, really.
Oh, and I appear to have given away Jack's Back, starring James Spader. As I recall, I had a friend who was amused by the quote on the back cover that read The city's in chaos. The hookers are scared. or something like that, so I gave it to him.
