want to upgrade speakers

    right now i have a set of sony's it was a box set deal
    so its not great. i would like to get a great set for a
    reasonable price i have been looking at bose. i was thinking about running some 601 floor standing for the front and some 161 for the rear is this a good idea

    I thought my brain was going to explode with that statement. Not gonna happen if you buy bose, as you will quickly find out if you run a search for bose on any audio forum such as this one. I suggest you find some better stores with better brands (this does not mean more expensive) such as paradigm and the like.

    So in conclusion, no, it's a very bad idea. You can do better in every possible way for way less money if you look around a bit.

    Bose are a bit over priced for what you get IMO.

    I would not say that the are complete junk, just not a good value.
