Checkout the Sept issue of AudioXpress magaine. HTF own JonMarsh (aka Jon Mark Hancock) has published the first part of his 3 part article on designing "An Unorthodox Two-Way" loudspeaker.

A picture of the completed design is shown in the lower right hand corner of this cover

If anyone wants to know what's actually involved in the design, development, and engineering of a high end but modestly priced speaker, read the articles.

Congratulations! This is the speaker with the Hi-vi 8" midwoofer, Vifa XT25 tweeter and the silly slope 1.25KHz crossover, right?

Now, where could I buy a single issue of Audioxpress magazine?

    yeah got my issue yesterday...already
read it--Jon's article, I had been
sorta following along with his scattered
    commnets on the HT Guide
...darn that it's in three sections.
    C'est la Vie.

Actually this month's issue is pretty good.

Did anyone read the unorthodox Center
    channel article?

Yeap this is the M8aMKIV development article.

Many bookstores like Barnes&Noble, Borders, etc will sell it. Since it's a 3 part article might be a good idea to subscribe for $35 and get 12 issues in comparison to pay $21 in a store for 3 issues.

I tried to get a copy at Borders yesterday, but they still just had an August issue!

Hard to believe it was two years ago I started this project! Slow work takes time!

Right now, I'm working on the ulitimate illogical extension of the M8 concept, and also getting back to my roots, in a sense. But where as you could build the M8 two way with as little as a saber saw, router, and small orbital sander, this project has proven to be a "tool sink"! [IMG]

    The final "goal":

Spent WAY too many weekends at work, lately. This last weekend I almost finished the final sanding before the veneer interface material is applied.

Plan is to go with some Rosewoof veneer I've found at an "acceptable price" (that's a relative term, you know! [IMG] )

At this rate, if I have them done by Xmas, I'll be lucky!

    Best regards,

    Jon

October issues is now out, so those that have been requesting to see the XO should be happy. All the XO schematics have been published in this issue.
