Have a ton of home movies I want to dub onto disc, and have been looking at the Panasonic DMR-E50. Best unit for the money? Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

You can get the Philips DVDR75 for well under $400 and I've been extremely happy with it. Very simple to use and a lot of nice features for the money including: Firewire input, and COMPONENT INPUT/OUTPUT.

I've made several DVD copies of family videos and they all look and sound great.

Best of all, if you own a dual format PC DVD burner, the DVDR75 will play -R as well as the +R discs, unlike the Panny's that won't recognize +R 98% of the time. Also you can make much nicer menu's using a PC DVD burner and Ulead's DVD Movie software.

Good luck in your quest, I know there's a lot out there now!
