    Best animated film, 2005.

Looks like a lot of fun, and if it's anything close to the original shorts in quality, I think it's a certain Oscar winner.

Looks great!! I love Wallace and Gromit!!

I thought they were making a Tortoise and the Hare movie before they were making Wallace and Gromit?

I believe that has been postponed - story problems, or something. If memory serves, the film was going to be a sports mockdumentary about the famous race between the two.

Chicken Run was fun, but to me not real greatness. Wallace and Grommit have something crucial that lifts them up, they are just outstanding characters.

What other animated films are on tap? The robot film, the zoo animals, and when does Cars hit?

Tim Burton has a stop-motion animated film coming out near the end of the year.

Haven't seen anything of Robots, but I don't think there's much buzz around that. The zoo film would be Madagascar, which looks to be very jokey, but not Oscar material. Cars has been moved to 2006.

There is, however, Howl's Moving Castle. Should that get a US release in 2005, they might be up against Miyasaki, who of course won a couple of years ago for Spirited Away.

It is going to be an interesting contest. Look forward to see how the films pan out.

Not sure about the Wallace and Gromit film. I think the Nick Park style works well in short doses, but I personally find all that whimsey gets a bit of a drag in larger doses. E.g. I found Chicken Run very dull.

Surprised to hear that Cars has been moved back to '06. There have been trailers for it in Brit cinemas for the last month or so.

Gromit to host Westminster Dog Show!

The world's coolest canine will host the event's new internet broadcast at www.westminsterkennelclub.org on Feb. 14th and 15th.

Of course, since he's a mutt he's ineligible to enter the show himself. Uh-huh, right. They don't want him in it because he KICKS ASS!! [IMG]

Can't wait for this. I was lucky enough to see "Wrong Trousers" at an Animation Festival here in San Diego years ago, and we've been Park/Aardman fans ever since. The railroad sequence at the end of WT literally made me fall out of my chair laughing the first time I saw it.

Count me among the people who LOVED "Chicken Run". Maybe its just because I'm also a huge fan of movies like "The Great Escape" and "Stalag 17", but I thought it was a fantastic, fun movie. Personally I thought Mel Gibson was a little weak, but the wife loved him, so whatever.

Mrs. Tweedy and Ginger are frequently quoted and/or impersonated in our house, that's for sure.
