My Home Theater System right now is,
Yamaha RX V995 100x5
Klipsch KSF C5 center
Boston Acoustic VRS rears
Mirage PS12 sub
Cerwin Vega 12" fronts
in a 12'x12' room

I want to get rid of the huge 12"CV fronts and replace them with something smaller that I can mount on the wall. I can`t spend a lot of money, looking to spend under $350 for the pair. I will be using them primarily for Home Theater use with some rock music use. I would like to find something with a little bass that doesn`t leave huge gap between the sub and front speakers.
I know most of you guys are into the real high end stuff, I just can`t afford it.

What do you think of the Bose 201 and 301 Series V for my situation? Would you recommend something else in my price range? Thanks.

Avoid Bose if you can - they sound horrible and are ridiculously overpriced.

If you want small speakers that have good sound, you could try Anthony Gallo Micro speakers: see here

You could see if there is a dealer near you. I don't know how much a pair costs, but you should be able to get them for under $350.

Another thing to consider is that your front speakers should all match, meaning your left, right and center channel speakers should all be from the same speaker line so that they have matching drivers to be timbre matched. This means that the sound will be the same from each of the three speakers. I see that you have a Klipsch center channel is no longer in production. Are there used KSF bookshelves available? If not, you might want to consider buying a matching center channel to whatever you buy for your left and right fronts to get an even sound. You could probably sell the center channel to help pay for the other speakers.

I'm going to be putting 3 of these for the 3 front speakers in my "other" theater - they are designed to be wall mounted - at $300.00 per pair, they would fit into your budget and blow away the bose, over priced peices...plus they have a 30 day trial period, so if you don't like them you can ship them back...

HTD Flat Panel Speaker

"The panel speaker's 3-way acoustical design includes a silk dome tweeter for the highest frequencies, two 2.5" FCD cone drivers for the high-mid frequencies, and two 4" FCD cone drivers for the low-mid frequencies. Two tuned ports each with an internal channel that run nearly half the length of the cabinet allow the low frequency response to reach 80 Hz at the -3dB point.

The front of the cabinet is slightly larger than the back of the cabinet so that all four of the side walls are angled back. This helps create a "disappearing edge" effect that further enhances the speaker's slim aesthetic. The removable wood and cloth grille cover is also cut with angles on all four sides to perfectly compliment the cabinet. Our HTD logo is not included on this grille so that the speaker can be positioned horizontally or vertically.

Each panel speaker includes two flush-mount wall brackets that position the front of the speaker just barely more than 4" from the wall. A pair of ball-and-socket brackets (sold separately) can be used instead to aim the speakers as required by your installation. The brackets can be mounted directly to drywall with included hardware."

Thanks for the suggestions guys, keep em coming.

Ennsio, those speakers look very expensive.

Just how important is it to have the front 3 speakers voice matched? I have been listening to my mis-matched set up for 10 years now, I`m sure it would sound better if they were matched, I just wonder how much better?

What do you think of these speakers?

I think I nailed it down to the Cambridge Soundworks Newton Series M80 bookshelf speakers. I`m going to put them 42" off the floor on two narrow, heavy shelving units. With 30 days to try the speakers how can I go wrong?
