wall colour choice? (1 Viewer)

I've seen lots of HT rooms painted in grey's black and maroon's etc. What is generally considered optimal? I'm planning on having a black curtain behind my TV along the front wall with some room treatments behind it and painting the ceiling black. Now I was thinking of going with grey on the side walls with maroon accents but I'm open to suggestions. Also when we say grey is it 18 percent grey thats the standard (aka Kodak grey?)

My wife help pick out the colors. My choice was 18% gray, but she was able to convince me to try a color. I feel it turned out quite well.
