I've walked out on the Fith Element the first time I saw it, Chris Tucker was not doing it for me; I own the Superbit DVD now.

Last movie I walked out on was the 13th Floor and I was watching it for FREE :)

I walked out of Saving Private Ryan during the first ten minutes. The funny thing was that I tried to see it twice before that but the cinema was sold out. Anyway the afternoon before watching the movie I went to a Christmas Party and consequently drank a little too much alcohol. An afternoon of booze and sun did not correlate well with the blood and guts in the first ten minutes of the movie. I had to leave my girlfriend in there!!

I cant believe noone has mentioned Freddy Got Fingered! :D Man, it was so awful, I looked around at other viewers and they had that jaw dropping look...no, not because of seeing something awesome either. lol There was a grimace to go along with it. I made it through only because it was a paid for by a friend.

I have come close though, especailly while viewing "House of 1,000 Corpses"
Well, me and a friend rented this (we had yet to see it and I wanted to wait for Director's cut but..Isabel might send us back to the cave man era.) and this movie had potential. It was just very poorly directed and Rob should observe directors, etc, and not make the sequel, and delay the director's cut. Anyways, if I was in the theater I would not have left, and since I was at my house, I certainly didn't leave my room.

Battlefield Eart..Battlefield Earth.. I didn't leave because I went to a screening, but geez O flip.

Never walked out of a movie, nor turned off a home video except in the case of porn that turned out not to be my style. (Leatherbound Dykes From Hell)

Man, Batman and Robin seems to be pretty vilified around here. I wanted to walk out of that one too.

I walked out of Battlefield Earth halfway through and got my money back.

I don't know how I got through Freddy Got Fingered in one sitting at home. Must have been the "gotta watch the train wreck" mentality.

I almost wanted to walk out of Matrix Reloaded too. To buy tickets to the screenings for the rest of the day. :)

I don't believe in blowing 20 bucks for a ticket and refreshments and then walking out.
Of course, there's something to be said about cutting your losses... regaining an hour or more of your life from a dismal film is doing just that.

Still, I have only ever walked out on one film... and that I got into for free (worked for a theater while in high school). The movie was Lifeforce. If they had just gone ahead and called it Naked Space Vampires, I would have known not to bother going in.

Usually, I am with others, and they may be getting more enjoyment out of a film than I... so I'll take the opportunity to take a very expensive nap. I did that twice this summer with Hulk and LXG. A few summers ago, I napped through A.I..

I have never physically walked out of a movie. But I wish I had burned a rental of "The Astonauts Wife" before I finihsed watching it.

This was the absolute worst movie ever. Worse than Dreamcatcher, Lifeforce and Sphere combined.

I can't say I remember ever walking out on a movie at the theater but I have turned off a movie after about an hour. That was "A Simple Plan". Recently I almost turned off Half Past Dead but lasted thru the entire movie.

Otherwise I look it at this way.. If I'm willing to shell out the dough to see it, I'm willing to sit thru the entire movie. There are several movies that I initially hated for the most part but have liked as the movie drags on and to me in some cases gets better.

Scott, if you left after the nude scenes were over, then smart move. If you left before, then all I can say is - YOU FOOL! :D

I don't recall ever walking out of a movie theater. It's not that I haven't done this before. It's just that I can't remember the time it happened.

But on the video rental side, many years ago I did rent the Laserdisc edition of "Natural Born Killers". When side A was over, I was not interested in watching side B one damn bit!

Just returned from the 5pm showing of Woody's Anything Else. Seven out of the thirteen who started the film walked out before the first hour was over. I was left, some other guy, two older ladies, and two high school girls were left (apparently the demographic Dreamworks was shooting for with this one). These two girls left fifteen minutes before the end after a game of soccer with their empty coke cups and popcorn bags.

I probably would have left too if I wasn't an obsessive Woody fan for years and years. Damn it sucked.

Wow, you never have turned off a half-finished porn? You are truly a man with great cinema stamina ;)

Chris, I usually come back and finish watching it later. A combination of atrocious acting, implants that were way too big and kinks that I just wasn't into wrecked this one.

Thanks fellas - it seems like overall i'm not alone in the combination of criteria i use.

BTW - someone mentioned walking out on the "avengers" - that was the last movie i'd walked out on before this week.

I was also tempted to walk out on Batman&Robin and Godzilla. Ditto for Escape from LA, even though I'm a fan of NY.
All showed potential in their trailers, but failed to deliver a competent film.
I do tend to fast forward through some movies when they fail to keep up the pace. I don't have much patience/time for pointless dialogue and drawn out cinematography.

The closest I got to walking out of a film was Gosford Park, which I felt, and still think is a cheap pastiche of La Règle du jeu, The Remains of the Day and Upstairs, Downstairs (as well as some other films and novels). I was extremely insulted that Altman assumed I wasn't well versed enough to realize this.
