One quick question, when determining the internal volume of a sub, do you exclude the volume of any bracing, the actual driver and the amp? As well do you exclude the volume of the port and or the air inside the port?

    Thanks Alot

correct, you subtract the volume of the amp, driver, bracing and port (which includes the air in the port)

    Thank You!

I just calculated all the volumes for the amp, driver etc,

Are these about right for a Dayton 15" DVC with a 6" - 24" port:

    Port: 12L

    Amp: 4L

    Bracing:22L

    Driver: 12L

BTW excluding all of this the internal volume will be around 280L.

Driver will be less than 5L. Port is close enough. 4-5L for the amp is fine.

Bracing I have no idea without knowing more about the box dimensions and what kind of air flow holes you are using.

    Thanks Dustin,
I calculated the size of the tube to be 24" diameter and 45" high: this yields 333L or so. I will have the normal top/bottom plugs ( 1 circle each: 24" diameter, 3/4" thick), as well I will be building some bracing about half way up the tube for an internal amp. This is what I mean:

I dont think that the total bracing will be around 22L, maybe closer to 14L, but you can never have to much space, right??[IMG]
    Thanks Again
