volume control icon in task bar is missing (1 Viewer)

Help. The volume control icon that used to be in my task bar is no longer there. Can anyone tell me how to get it back, or of another way to control volume? I'm using Win98.

Windows 98 is pretty far back for me, but either in the Multimedia or Sound Control panel is a check box for the Icon in the Task Bar.

Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel

Then choose either;

Multimedia Control Panel - I am almost positive it is here.

Sound Control Panel

John, you can get it back by accessing the multimedia settings in the control panel.
