Looking at this model: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=8477432

Currently have a Samsung LN 32A330 (Got from Wal Mart). It has good color and brightness but the judding and motion blur/smear on 360 games is too noticeable for comfort.

I'm on a budget which is why I'm considering a plasma, in particular a Vizio. Anyone have the aforementioned model and can comment on its pic quality/game performance? I'll be using this primarily for 360 gaming, so I want to make sure judder, motion blur/smear isn't an issue at all. I know it'll be dimmer than LCDs but I'd be willing to sacrifice that for no smear/blur.

Any and all suggestions, tips, and recommendations welcome. Thanks in advance.

Although Vizio is probably the best of the 'cheap' brands, I wouldn't go with it solely because of the warranty. Once the year warranty is out, if something breaks you just throw it away. You can't fix it locally, as there are no parts available, and sending it in to Vizio is going to cost you about the price you paid for it. I would personally go with a Panasonic over Samsung and LG for reliability and customer service reasons. It's also going to be the best picture quality of any other 42" plasma (and lots better than any Vizio). This one is the same price as a Vizio plasma Panasonic - 42" 720p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV - TH-42PX80U

I would choose a plasma over any LCD (except maybe the newest LED-lit LCD's, which cost an arm and a leg). It has better black levels, no motion blur and it's cheaper. All the marketing is for LCD's which is why everyone buys them, but not because they are better. My Samsung plasma is too bright for comfort, at night it hurts my eyes and I have to turn the brightness and contrast down so much that I lose detail in dark scenes. I couldn't imagine having an LCD, that would be even worse. During the daytime it's plenty bright, and I have direct sunlight in my living room.

Whoops, just saw the price of the Vizio. It's $75 more for the Panasonic but I consider it money WELL spent.

Definitely seems like the better value. Thanks for the tip! Anyone else have comments/suggestions?
