VIZIO Announces Availability of 2018 P-Series 4K TVs
VIZIO has today announced the availability of its all-new 2018 P-Series 4K HDR Smart TV collection. The P-Series collection includes a bezel-less industrial design, as well as a number of 4K HDR picture quality enhancements, and smart TV and smart home capabilities, according to the Irvine-based flat-panel fabricators. The TVs will also come with Dolby Vision HDR, up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness and 'over one billion colors' courtesy of Ultra Color Spectrum tech.
VIZIO’s 2018 SmartCast OS will offer streaming options and smart home controls with the integration of voice-control support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Offered in 55”, 65” and 75” class sizes, the 2018 P-Series 4K HDR Smart TVs are now available on VIZIO.com and retailers including Best Buy, Costco, Walmart, Sam’s Club and Target. Pricing ranges from an MSRP of $899.99 for the 55” to $2,499.99 for the 75”.
The new line will include VIZIO's Active Full Array Pro backlight, which includes 120 local dimming zones, and the company claims it will result in 'added vibrancy and incredibly deep black levels.' The UltraBright 1000 will also enable up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness to deliver 'intensely realistic on-screen imagery,' while a Clear Action 720 feature should ensure superior motion clarity with fast-action content so that it looks both smooth and sharp with a 240Hz effective refresh rate.

Netflix, Prime Video, Vudu, iHeartRadio, Crackle and Xumo can be accessed on-screen using an included remote, while a free SmartCast Mobile app will turn smartphones into touchscreen remotes. The SmartCast OS includes Google Chromecast built-in which will allow a user to access 'thousands of Chromecast-enabled apps' for free, subscription and paid content.
The VIZIO 2018 SmartCast OS will also serve smart home users with voice-control support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. By vocalizing commands, users will be able to achieve the increasingly common functions of turning their TVs on and off, change channels or adjust volume, and for Google Assistant users, stream content.
