Vittorio Storaro's new UNIVISIUM 1:2 film format

Looks interesting and is being used for the new film Exorcist: The Beginning.
It seems to me to be an alternative to Super 35 but supposedly without the exaggerated grain and with an eye towards HDTV compatibility...sort of.
I'm sure more knowledgeable people will correct me.

Well it is not as "New" as I first thought (this is the first that I personally had heard of the format) as it has been in use around Europe since 1998, in fact the Sci-Fi channel's DUNE (2000) mini-series was filmed with this format.
