Google Maps launched the beta version of walking directions yesterday. My wife uses a treadmill regularly and plans on doing a virtual walk across the country. Now she can plan her route using Google Maps walking directions.
My question is, does anyone know if a hack/site exists to input your daily miles so you can keep track of your journey? Sure, we can simply write down our miles in a log book or spreadsheet to keep track each day, but it would be nice if we could directly link it with a planned route on Google Maps. That way you could see at a glance where you are on your virtual walk.
Even cooler would be the ability to use some of the available "Street-level Views" using real-time feedback from the treadmill which would continuously update as you walked, giving you something to look at. Anyone have any realistic ideas as to how this could be accomplished?
