That's what I wanted to know-- hope you continue to enjoy 'em!
I'd love for the actual Vic Mizzy soundtrack of The Addams Family to be released.
Not this soundtrack, but what you heard in each episode.
This is a great thread,..especially as I'm a collector of vintage (I prefer to call it 'Classic'), TV soundtrack music and even library production music.
This thread should be made a Sticky and put into the Music section of HTF.
Here are two of my favorite vintage TV sets, which I am listening to now while I wait for Wild Wild West and Land of the Giants.
Composer Dominic Frontiere-wise, we had in the past the following titles:
The Outer Limits (3-CD Set)
The Rat Patrol
The Rat Patrol (volume 2)
PS: I wish LLL could release Frontiere's Stoney Burke and 12 O’Clock High.
Stoney Burke as music is the companion piece to The Outer Limits.
I own them both, I especially like Astley's Danger Man because I enjoy the harpsichord's use.
Colony Three, an absolute gem of an episode, among many. That last scene really sticks with you when a plaintive Drake asks Hobbs if something could be done for the "girl"...the forlorn young British woman duped into going deep behind the Iron Curtain to the 'Potemkin Village' of Colony Three...of course, she will simply be another casualty of the 'Cold War'...Danger Man is the absolute best and most authentic Cold War TV drama. Love that Astley music, very evocative.
I'm a big fan of TV soundtracks. My collection includes original soundtracks to...
The Fantasy Worlds Of Irwin Allen (LIS, Time Tunnel, VTTBOTS and Land Of The Giants)
The Outer Limits ('63-'65)
Twilight Zone 40th Anniversary
Star Trek TOS
The Adventures of Superman (52-'58)
The Carl Stalling Project (Warner Bros. cartoon cues)
*Always looking for more. Would love to have the soundtrack/cues to Leave It To Beaver and Timmy and Lassie.
I, too, wish Stoney Burke soundtrack would come out. I believe there is an episode of Stoney Burke that has the original music that was used for "The Guest,"
It's “To Catch the Kaiser".
There are two more Astley sets, containing his scores for the half-hour Danger Man and of course The Saint.
That's good music. Why don't they have music like that these days?
They prefer generic computer music.
Generic computer music?
The 5 LP's were released as 5 CD's in Japan.
ESPIONAGE SOUNDTRACKS-WISE, WE HAVE MANY GOOD TITLES
Danger Man (two sets from Network)
The Man from UNCLE (four volumes from Film Score Monthly)
Jericho (Film Score Monthly)
I Spy (2 CD’s from Film Score Monthly)
The Wild Wild West (4-CD set from La La Land)
Mission: Impossible (GNP Crescendo)(6-CD set from La La Land)
The Prisoner (3-CD and 6-CD sets from Network)
The Avengers (from 50 Years of The Music of Laurie Johnson Vol. 1, Demon Edsel)
The Avengers, Tara King Year (2-CD set from Silva Screen)
The New Avengers (from 50 Years of The Music of Laurie Johnson Vol. 3, Demon Edsel)
Assignment: Vienna (from TV Omnibus: Volume One, Film Score Monthly)
I bet it's about as much of a long shot as getting the actual series released on DVD/Blu (my #1 remaining "grail" show), but I'd love a CD of Lalo Schifrin's music from T.H.E. Cat (1966-67).
At least this YouTuber extracted some score from the worn old TV prints making the rounds--
What's your vintage television soundtracks wish list, including anthologies, series, telefilms, unsold pilots?
