Great equipment from the 70's
Receiver is a Yamaha CR-2020
this retailed for $750 new and now goes for 2-400.

However it has a short and pops the left speaker's circuit breaker.
Any ideas what I could look into perhaps something I could fix?
Otherwise, would it make more sense to get it fixed for up to $200 (or more, who knows what is wrong)
OR get a used/new ebay receiver -
- in which case will there be a difference in sound between a similar vintage unit and a digital stereo receiver?
Here are the speakers
