This special limited edition 3-disc 4K UHD/Blu-ray set comes with a spot gloss hard slipcase + slipcover combo (designed by Matt Frank) and is limited to 6,000 units. It is only available on our website and at select indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them.

A group of mining engineers prospecting for copper in the mountains of Lapland make an incredible discovery when their drilling unearths the remains of a giant, prehistoric amphibious reptile. A section of the creature’s tail is exhumed from beneath the frozen tundra and transported to the National Aquarium in Copenhagen, where it’s placed in a cold room to be studied by Professor Otto Martens and his research team. But when the door to the room is accidentally left ajar, the tail segment begins to thaw, quickly regenerating itself into a gigantic beast! Now loose and embarking on a cross-country rampage, the military are forced to employ all means necessary to rout the creature - now dubbed “Reptilicus” - before it launches a full-scale attack on the capital.

A Danish-American co-production, REPTILICUS is a delirious creature feature which serves as the Scandinavian answer to Godzilla, complete with astonishing scenes of its titular monster causing carnage in Copenhagen. Filmed in both Danish and English language versions, directed by Poul Bang and Sidney W. Pink (Journey to the Seventh Planet) respectively, REPTILICUS features a nearly identical cast to its Danish counterpart but adds in unique special effects flourishes such as the beast spewing acid saliva on its victims. The monster maniacs at Vinegar Syndrome are thrilled to regenerate REPTILICUS in a new 4K restoration from the original negative for its world UHD premiere, alongside an HD transfer of the Danish-language version - available on disc for the first time ever in the U.S. - and an array of newly-produced bonus features.

directed by: Sidney W. Pink, Poul Bang

Am I missing seeing a release date? It’s not indicated on the Vinegar Syndrome product page either.

Yeah, I noticed that too and sent them an email, I'm hopeing to hear back and will you know as soon as I find out. Weird that they added all the specs and data yet no drop date...We'll see If it's as good as the Gorgo edition that they did, I will be a happy camper!!

Special thanks to the Captain who made this post as VS titles usually dont seem to get much love here, ok most of them are sleazy crap for certain fans of genre films but not this one. I LOVE Reptilicus and ordered it immediately :D

Generally, VS titles are available when they go up on their site. Due to the volume of orders that they get during their sales, they can take almost a month to ship out their discs at those times and I'd loosely expect the same time frame for this. However, I'm not sure that the "Pre-Order" designation has been on other new items that I bought from them so it may be a bit down the way.

For sure, most are slasher and demon titles that never interested me, but ever so often they do this, like they did with Gorgo, and did a wonderful job!! So ever so often I'll stroll over and look, because you never know when you can find that ruby in the soup.

This is the release that will finally make 4k sing, as thousands (limited to 6,000) enter the 4k universe.

Can’t wait to find out about Reptilicus’ “enduring legacy.”

Methinks that the expensive Vinegar Syndrome label might instead have considered releasing a 4 or 5-disc 4K/Bluray/DVD/Digital box set of BATTLEFIELD EARTH, with John Travolta (in-character) commentary, a 200-page book containing the script for the unreleased 4.5-hour director's cut,...oh, what a great set that would be! Instead...REPTILICUS? Cecil the Seasick Serpent (a hand puppet) was more convincing. The "flames" that the titular character here spews forth from its mouth were the result of someone literally scratching the emulsion! I did that when I was 12.*

*My movie was better, and it only cost me $20.

I watched the US version and loved it. Unfortunately the case in the center where you flip the disc is broken and Im going to see if they can send a replacement case only. For what I paid I hope they can accommodate.
