Terrific news! I have stuff from VS, mostly adult titles, and I can tell everyone here that they do a good job with what they get their hands on.

I wonder if MGM will let VS do an all-out deluxe edition Last Tango in Paris?

PARSI, maybe, but not PARIS. :) I love VS but I doubt that's in their wheelhouse. (I'd never heard of the first MGM release, PALE BLOOD.) But it's been nine years since the last LAST disc, and stranger things have happened.

They have been doing 4K scans of their heavy hitters over the last few years and those scans have been the basis of new BD releases from companies like Criterion, and 4K HDR versions of the same titles have also shown up for digital purchase on storefronts like iTunes.

I'm curious what titles MGM has that really fit into Vinegar Syndrome's types of releases. They do alot of very obscure horror tiles and golden age porn movies. Don't get me wrong, they do great work with movies that would likely otherwise languish & be unseen but any studio title seems odd for them.

I would imagine they would be B titles of horror, exploitation and other genre films. Titles like Invasion Of The Bee Girls, The Mini Skirt Mob, Motel Hell, House On Skull Mountain, Invasion Of The Star Creatures, Mystery On Monster Island, Fireball 500, Konga, Chrome And Hot Leather, Deranged, Thunder Alley and Yongary for example. That's why requests for A titles like the 1968 Charge Of The Light Brigade seem highly improbable.

Invasion of the Bee Girls, Motel Hell, and Deranged have already been released by other labels.

it might be a lot of the 70’s AIP films along with the 80’s Filmways movies along with titles from the quickly defunt studios, such as Atlantic, Island, and Polygram. I highly doubt that it will be releases like Last Tango.

Why is so much and I know most people agree with me of this garbage important? Aren't there so many more titles worthy of restoration? Like the above mentioned Light Brigade and Ryan's Daughter and just a lot of classics from the MGM catalogue.

Honestly why is this exploitation trash important for restoration? They already exist in a state worthy of their contents.

It's not an either/or situation. It's economics. If someone, including MGM, thinks they can turn a profit by releasing those titles, they will.
