Does anyone know what Vincent Sherman commentaries remain after the release of THE ADVENTURES OF DON JUAN? I would be particularly interested in the potential releases of SATURDAY'S CHILDREN, THE HARD WAY, IN OUR TIME, PILLOW TO POST, NORA PRENTISS, THE UNFAITHFUL (with the 1929 Jeannie Eagels version of "The Letter" attached), BACKFIRE, GOODBYE, MY FANCY, LONE STAR (his only MGM film), ICE PALACE, and A FEVER IN THE BLOOD. It would be great if he had recorded commentaries for HARRIET CRAIG (the quintessential Joan Crawford film) and AFFAIR IN TRINIDAD, but I'm certain that is just another missed opportunity for Sony/Columbia et al.

I don't know if that's mere speculation (and this forum is full of it), but I read once that Mr. Sherman recorded commentaries for The Hard Way, Nora Prentiss and The Unfaithful. If this is true I'm very happy. I would also love to hear a commnetarie for In Our Time.

I think he was probably the only Golden Age director who lived long enough to recrd DVD commentaries (he died at a ripe 99!). Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised if some of his contemporaries did laser disc commentaries in the 80s- can anyone confirm this?

There are a few of those, and also some pseudo-commentaries, like Fury and Clash by Night where Peter Bogdanovich intersperses his own observations with recordings of his interviews with Lang.

I heard about him recording stuff for Nora Prentiss and The Unfaithful, too.
