I am not sure this is the correct forum to post this, but I suddenly have a strange problem in my home theater. I have a Pioneer VSX-80TXV receiver powering my system into a Pani PTAE900U. I am running a HD cable box and Denon DVD player into the receiver, transferring the signal to the Pani via component cables.

All was fine, now I turn on the system and I am able to watch the "normal" cable channels, HBO, etc. When changing the cable box to HD channels, I get audio but the "blue screen" for video. When changing the receiver input to "DVD", the blue screen is split vertically by a wide black bar.

Obviously it is not the DVD player or cable box, since they both have this problem. The projector is on the correct inputs or it would not work. I am at a loss at how to isolate the problem. I am unaware of any setting on the equipment that would cause this. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am having withdrawl symptoms. If I'm posted in the wrong forum, please redirect me! Thank you.

Sounds like a problem with the pioneer receiver. Try going directly from your cable box or dvd to your projector. If that works you must have changed some settings on your receiver. If that doesn't work, I would assume your equipment is sending a resolution(1080i,p,576, etc..) that your projector can not process. Although your dvd should stll work.

Anyway try reseting your receiver if you can't get it back to the way it was.

hope that helps
