I didn't do that bc I am a little weary of all the programming the audio/video company has done getting wiped out. It's all tied into our network and runs through a crestron system that is tied to the remote control and the lights in the movie room. It's all surround sound and there are like 8 speakers hooked to the back of this AVR and I am fearful the reprogramming of all of it will cost more than a new AVR.Have you tried the factory reset procedure I shared earlier? Nothing to lose in doing so.
With a monitor connected to the receivers output you'd still need an input device [like the Apple TV] connected for a meaningful test. This has already been done as it was the original, functioning setup before things went weird.
