I have had a copy of Video Essentials for a few years. Recently I bought a new 16:9 Pioneer SD-583HD5 set (replacing a 4:3). I went to calibrate with VE and, although the packaging says it is enhanced, it I can't get it to work as such.

No other 16:9 discs I play have a problem (my DVD player, an old Sony S500D, is set to 16:9 output).

I use AVIA, and I noticed the same thing when I got a 16:9 tv. I did a search and supposedly there have been updates to these Calibration disks in the works for years now, but I don't think they have come out.

Go to Chapter 20-track 5. If you don't get the Anamorphic pattern, then you have your gear mis-adjusted.
