video drop out on flashing scenes !!.HELP! (1 Viewer)

I just hooked up the Toshiba SD5900 using Component Video Cable and i get video drop out on Flashing scenes..could it be the Cables?

I selected Progressive vs Interlaced and everytime there is a flash of light it drops out.

I also selected Auto Detect for Video Type vs Film/Video.

Please help!

It might be your TV; many can't handle a sudden burst of light.

My TV is the Hitachi 53SBX01B HDTV Ready..It should be able to handle it cuz It did before Ibought this new DVD player.

very confusing if you ask me.

correction- the Dvd player is the 5700 NOT 5900.

The Hitachi 53SDX01B had exactly this problem with some progressive scan players. Hitachi did come up with a solution, issued a service bulletin, and incorporated the fix on later production sets.

I'd suggest you call Hitachi customer service.
