One question. Are there any DVD players out there capable of playing video cd's (VCD) and/or super video cd's (SVCD)?

Most DVD players that I know of play VideoCDs. I'm pretty sure all Sony's do. Not too sure about Super VideoCDs though.

    Go to www.vcdhelp.com
They have a compatibility list of (a huge number of) DVD players. This will show whether they support VCD/SVCD/miniDVD, and at which bit rates. They also show compatibility with CD-R and CD-RW media.
    Great site.

My toshiba 5109 will not play SVCD and sometimes has problems playing just VCD's. I believe all Toshiba's are unable to play SVCD. Just thought you would like to know.
