I have an older Vid Card. An NVIDIA Geforce2 Ultra. Besides the spot that i connect my monitor to is another port. It looks like 24 square holes (3 rows of 8). WHat is this? Is it another sort of video out?

DVI on a Geforce2 is unlikely but who knows?

Is this a NVIDIA reference card or another manufacturer?

    ASUS,
    Leadtek,
    Hercules,
    MSI,
    etc...

you can use this program to find out make and model...

It really sounds like it's DVI...the indicator would be the white port...

I stand corrected, lots of GeForce2 Ultra cards have DVI...

    for example:

Do you have a HDTV or LCD monitor you can try out the connector on. Bets are, it's DVI.

thanks,..but what about the 4 holes to the side of the 24? i dont have those..is that ok? can it still be a DVI port?

Another question: can i convert DVI to RCA or s-video?

Without the four holes, it's DVI-D instead of DVI-I: [IMG]. D is digital only, while I has both analog and digital.

There are no simple converter cables. The signals are quite different. DVI can carry a much more detailed picture.
