Stephen Colbert mentioned on his show last night that the company finally updated their company domain email accounts from @cbs.com to @viacomcbs.com last week. Oh well.

After so many years of seeing the Paramount logo with “A (fillintheblank) Company” under it, now it can just say “Paramount.”

Of Viacom's various brands, Paramount definitely has the most international name recognition. CBS is a huge brand stateside, but pretty much meaningless everywhere else. It makes sense for Paramount to be the flagship brand.

So Paramount will no longer be owned by anyone? That's just how I'm reading this.

Technically Paramount is still owned by ViacomCBS. ITs just that they're renaming everything as Paramount Media.

Ah! That sheds light on it. The lack of a byline was about to throw me into a whirlwind of confusion.

It might get even more confusing depending on what happens to CBS Television Distribution (the former Kingworld) and CBS Productions. We might start seeing a mountain at the end of Jeopardy next year.

Or even Wheel of Fortune, possibly ET as well (ET did have the old Gulf+Western Blue Mtn. at the bottom of it for many years, not to leave out the Paramount Communications and Viacom versions of the current Mtn.).

It really doesn't matter. There release hardling anything to Blu-ray or streaming when it comes to classic tv series or films.

Yes, this change has provided him a decent amount of material.
