Ordering the complete package at A$550 and free delivery to me as a local. There are also breakdown sets for those who want to buy less of the package.

From the descriptions "The 39 Steps" and "The Lady Vanishes" don't have much in common with the films they are remakes of. I imagine they are closer to the novels they are based on rather than the Hitchcock films, though it is just a guess as I have not read the novels .

Fortunately, I have all the Hitchcock films on Blu-ray from the UK. I’ll probably order the Powell/Pressburger box. I have all but Spy In Black but they are Criterion DVD’s. So that makes since.

The only film I need is 49TH PARALLEL, so I guess I have to get the whole box set… it’s expensive…

Edit: I was just wondering if Criterion will be puting this out…

And the price of ~$52US (plus shipping) is reasonable as well! Contains the first 4 films in the series on 2 discs:
  • The Egg and I (1947)
  • Ma and Pa Kettle (1949)
  • Ma and Pa Kettle Go to Town (1950)
  • Ma and Pa Kettle Back on the Farm (1951)
Interesting that Kino supposedly turned this down and these show up on here. Hoping the rest of the series gets released on Blu too. Still waiting for the Frankenstein set. Already released the Mummy, Dracula and Wolf Man ones.

IIRC, Kino turned down the Kettle films due to poor sales of the Francis series release. IMHO, they're quite different things with somewhat different audiences. I love both but also know of people who like one but not the other.

I'll pick up any they choose to release. My favorites are the first 4 but I like them all.

Mine finally shipped the day after I emailed them, thankfully. I imagine they're probably water-logged with orders lately.

Now I'm just waiting for it to clear through customs at LAX...
My order was placed months ago. I hope mine was near the top of the pile.

Ok, I just checked and my order has indeed shipped. But I didn’t get a ship confirmation.

Mine arrived yesterday but unfortunately I was in the shower when the postman knocked on the door. He left a note that I could have it redelivered or pick it up personally at the post office. Today being Juneteenth, post office was closed but I'll be there tomorrow at 10:00AM when it opens to pick it up.
