And definitely a first UHD worldwide for the film, not just Australia. Just saw that StudioCanal has is releasing it elsewhere a month earlier than Imprint.

I was about to say, and first Peckinpah film on UHD, until I remembered Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.

By all rights I should love Convoy - it's very 70s, very cheesy, sometimes just odd, and it's focused on vehicles.

But I find it sort of dull. Kristofferson isn't exactly overflowing with charisma, the driving action doesn't impress much, and the ending is very anticlimactic. I guess you have to really love truck stops.

Yeah, it's probably the worst film of Peckinpah's oeuvre ("probably" because I've never seen his first feature, The Deadly Companions).

I think The Deadly Companions is vastly underrated. A minor western to be sure but quite solid and well acted. Frankly, I'll take it over most of Peckinpah's beloved classics like Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid, The Killer Elite and Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia, all of which I could barely get through.

Fair enough. I only mentioned it, as I hadn't seen it, and therefore couldn't make any judgment about it.

Anyway, regarding the Imprint UHD releases, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the two yet to be announced are also from the MGM/UA catalog, since these first two are.

"2. An iconic musical comedy making its 4K debut in Dolby Vision restored from the original 35mm negative by Imprint Films."

While I'd love for it to be Pepe (1960), one could hardly call it iconic. I suspect it's Fiddler On The Roof. We shall see.

It’s probably only the WWII epic which might have any interest for me. Leaving out Warner Bros and Fox titles which it won’t be, I can only think of The Victors, Is Paris Burning?, Battle of Britain and A Bridge Too Far. But I may be reading too much into the “epic” definition.

Yup, A Bridge Too Far.

Still waiting for a region B release of Is Paris Burning?

I saw a 70MM blow up with the entrance/exit music and intermission. Hope all is transferred the same way with the UA British Hexagon logo. Although we don't want the British print which had several words and scenes edited for a "softer" audience.
