I have been able to get decent UHF reception with an inexpensive indoor antenna, but the VHF [channels 4 (NBC) & 6 (Fox) in Milwaukee, WI] reception is miserable. I believe I am well within 30 miles of the major stations so I should be able to get decent signals from an antenna. Any ideas on how I can improve the VHF reception ??? I have found quite a few topics on UHF, but little to nothing on VHF.

Have you tried a signal booster? Found at Radio Shack and other antenna providers online.

Thanks Pat. I have a Radio Shack very nearby and may give that a try.

I am just a little perplexed that my 5-year old 27" Toshiba pulled in these VHF stations much better with the same antenna.
