Did anybody else catch this? If not, it's on a few more times. I ordered some Girls Gone Wild back in 2001 and didn't care for them. Since then, I've changed my mind. I suppose it's largely the idea that these girls aren't doing it for the money, they're doing it because they want to and they're in the moment. This is a feeling nothing else has captured that I've seen.

According to the special, they're makign a movie with MGM. I have my doubts abotu how well this would work as a movie as you'd presumably have to keep it to an R level, which I think would hurt the product.

VH1 aired a Girls Gone Wild special??!!! The network that used to show James Taylor and Fleetwood Mac videos endlessly aired a Girls Gone Wild special??!!!

I suppose I really shouldn't be surprised by this, it has turned into a mini-cult franchise so they will beat it into the ground until it stops making money.

Well to be honest I found this more interesting than the stuff vh1 has been airing lately or even the girls gone wild tapes themselves. What I can't wrap my head around is that now that everyone knows what the tapes are yet they still have no trouble finding girls willing to be on camera. I saw a couple of the more recent tapes and I found it funny how many of the girls agreed to flash but asked not to be in the commercial.

A few months ago I saw a special on VH1 about breast augmentation. You know the type....that profile different women and their experience with implants. Well bare breasts on this special were blurred out UNTIL there was footage of them in a Doctor's Office. Then it became an uncensored Boob-O-Rama

I think thats the same special that ran first on mtv. It seems most of vh1's programming these days is leftovers from mtv. If they don't want to take a chance on original programming they should make their focus music videos since mtv doesn't show those anymore.

I think a lot of girls want to be in the video. That seems to be the point Joe was tryign to make throughout the special. They don't want to be in the commercial, because then their family might see. Of course, their family will never order the tapes.

If you get up at 4 in the morning I almost guarantee you will se a half hour infomercial ablout GGW.

This just in from The Smoking Gun

APRIL 4--The owner of the "Girls Gone Wild" video empire was arrested yesterday on racketeering charges after Florida cops learned that several underage girls were filmed topless and bathing together at a local motel. Investigators allege that Joseph Francis, 30, and his cohorts filmed the minors last week during spring break festivities in Panama City. According to cops, the "Girls Gone Wild" team brought two of the girls to a motel where they were each paid $100 for undressing, showering together, and masturbating as they sat on the side of the bathtub. Investigators also allege that Francis offered two of the girls $50 "to touch or play with his penis," and that he and the "Girls Gone Wild" photographer both knew that the girls were all underage. Along with arresting Francis and three of the multimillionaire's associates, cops executed search warrants on Francis's condominium and his corporate Lear jet. Those raids yielded a variety of electronic equipment, cocaine, and evidence of personal use of Ecstasy and pot. Most importantly, cops reported, they found explicit video of the underage girls who had told cops of their March 31 encounter with Francis & Co. In light of these allegations, it makes you wonder whether the previous "Girls Gone Wild" productions (which have raked in nearly $100 million) may also contain kiddie porn.

Why hasn't this been reported elsewhere?

It's already known there were underage girls in some early videos. I believe it was Sexy Sorority Sweethearts vol 1. The court ruled in GGW's favor as they had no way of knowing the girls were underage and there is no expectation of privacy when flashing in public.

These actions wer eperformed in Panama, which means they likely weren't illegal. I'm not sure how one gets racketeering out of this.

Thsi does cast doubt on his claims that he doesn't pay the girls, but it being such a small amount least means they aren't doing it for the money.
