I have a Sandisk MP3 player and use MusicMatch Jukebox to manage my music files.

My daughter is getting an ipod.

1. What will it take to make my mp3 files work with her ipod?

2. Must she use itunes with the ipod? If so, assuming I want to continue using MMJukebox, does this mean that I'll need TWO copies of each tune on my hard drive?

Basically, I want to keep my music files as is, but she's going to want to use many of them with her ipod.

Thanks,

Jon

She will be able to play your MP3s. She will also have to use the iTunes software. In iTunes you can just search or open the mp3s and then move them over to the new iPod.

(If you rip any music with iTunes make sure you choose MP3 and you will be able to play them as well on your player. The M4A(AAC) format that iTunes defaults to is better but you will not be able to use it on yours.)

There are 3rd party applications that do work with iPod, but unless you are an uber-geek user, I think iTunes is the way to go.
