Vertical band on tv - looks a bit like raster ringing? (1 Viewer)

There is a vertical band in the exact centre of my direct view tv that appears slightly darker than the rest of the screen. The effect is very similar to raster ringing except that this is one band in the middle rather than several bands on the left. This band is only visible when a light background is in movement (i.e. panning across a snow scene or light sky).
Would anyone know what might be causing this and if there is a way to fix it?
Many thanks,
Nicole P

Nicole,
Sounds like the ghost line on my Toshiba RPTV. It's not a Toshiba is it. Is it on all sources or just DVD?
Good to see another Aussie on the forum.

Andrew,
"It's a Sony" :)
At the moment I am using it solely for DVD. I shall try hooking it up to something else to see if the band appears again.
Is your set's "ghost line" visible on all sources?
Cheers,
Nicole P
