http://www.9to5mac.com/71615/more-news-on-the-verizon-ipad-2-recall/ Apparently, several Verizon iPad2s shipped with duplicate MEIDs, which makes them problematic. The units are being recalled and purchasers are receiving a $50 credit (or free accessory) for the exchange. Apparently only a limited number are effected, so only in a newer batch (If you've had one for a while, it's doubtful you're impacted). Just an error in the MEID firmware stamp, it seems

Apple store will check for free. And they will exchange you + give you a credit, so it's one of the better minor recalls out there. Only impacts the verizon units. Apparently, a certain shipment came over and they all had previously used MEIDs (from a prior batch) which causes network duplication issues.

40 miles away, haven't noticed any problems but I also haven't used the 3G service yet either.
