Hi everybody!
I'm having a little problem deciding which is the better Subwoofer....Velodyne VX-10 or Athena AS-P4000.
They both have their own distinctive sound, but I'm not sure which I like better  They both have excellent sound. The Velo has a bigger Voice Coil and is front firing. The Athena has more peak power, smaller voice coil, and a down firing speaker. One more thing I might add...the foam surround on the Velo Sub is made of the typical "Foam-Rubber" material, whereas the Athena speaker looks to have a pure "Rubber" surround. I've seen Foam/Rubber disintegrate over time, especially when they get older!
Anybody have any comments, suggestions, or reviews they would like to share?
Thanks and regards,
bill

Without question go for the Athena over the Velo.
I own both, and the Athena has way more output, and in my room anyway, is flat almost 10Hz deeper.

If both are 150 watts nom., their is a big difference in ouput. The Athena is much more noticeable.

Thanks,
bill
