At $230, is this a good sub? I know ...would rather be buying an svs or hsu, but I am in the process of buying a house, and the budget does not permit. I used to have an old velodyne (forgot the model number, but it got me through school ...blew it a few months ago) and suited me fine.
Any opinions on this sub are greatly appreciated.

thanks

Not a bad sub at that price, especially if you’re going to use it in a smallish room. I have a review of it at the link in my signature.

I just bought a Velodyne DSP 10 I just had a ct 100 which needed a new amp and a driver and was going to cost 291 dollars to fix. I saw the vrp10 sub at circuit city sunday and was about to buy it when I saw a open box DSP10 for 385. A new one was $449. I talked tha manager down to $299.00. I almost bought a SVS but since the CT 100 almost blew my apartment when I played Mission Impossible II, I just decide to stick with Velo. The new sub is fine. It is very loud and low. That sub you want cost 250 here in the Baltimore Washington area. Good price.
