I recently purchased a velodyne subwoofer and on the rear it has RCA line level inputs, two of them. One with LFE marked next to it.

In the instructions it says it is not necessary to 'Y' cable into both of the inputs from a subwoofer/LFE out on a receiver. It says the sub 'sums' both signals.

I have found that by using the 'Y' it sounds better, given this testing was only done with my ears.

What is your alls opinion on this? Should I 'Y'? or shouldnt I?

It doesn’t sound better, just louder. You can get the same effect by raising the volume knob.
