What would be a realistic price to pay for one of these? Series I (not series 2)

I'm looking at a "floor model" that seems in good shape. No hum or noise coming from the amp...

    Thanks!

I picked up a pair of series I HGS-18's in sealed manufactures cartons from an authorized dealer. I paid $2000 ea.

I think that sounds about right. I don't know where to go to find those prices though...

That sounds like a very good deal.

I've looked on many auction sites, and the series 1 is usually anywhere from $1800 to $2300 (both new and used). There are the occasional $1000, $900, etc. stories, but that seems like the market.

I definitely would prefer a new (sealed in box) Vel, but I've found an "unusual" unanimity in the bottom line price at retailers.

I think Velodyne has some sort of rule...

Either way, I just want to make sure I get a VALID manufacturers warranty, just in case the series 2 starts to "hum" like a select few of the series 1 did.

I'll start making some more calls tomorrow... I'm so ready for my sub already!!!
