Does anyone know what titles Visual Entertainment, Inc. are being worked on for release on DVD this year in the field of classic TV?
Dan August was the last of these among them.
But here’s the list of what I would wish them to release this year:
Barefoot in the Park (TV series, 1970)
Funny Face (1971)/The Sandy Duncan Show (1972)
Me and the Chimp (1972)
Paper Moon (TV series, 1974-75) (***)
Serpico (TV series, 1976-77) (***)
Busting Loose (1977)
Blansky’s Beauties (1977)
The Ted Knight Show (1978)
Out of the Blue (1979 TV series)
Working Stiffs (1979)
Struck by Lightning (1979)
The Associates (U.S. TV series, 1979-80) (***)
Goodtime Girls (1980)
Here’s Boomer (1980-82)
Madame’s Place (1982-83)
Star of the Family (1982)
Mr. Smith (TV series, 1983)
Brothers (1984 TV series, 1984-89)

I'm going to guess:

Jake 2.0
John Doe
McCloud (complete series)
VR5
Project UFO
Hec Ramsey
Sierra
My World and Welcome to It.

James

I like the way you think, James, but I doubt Hec Ramsey will ever see the light of day, alas. A complete McCloud would also be nice. I'd be all over those two in a heartbeat. Sadly, I think they are extreme long shots...

A few more that were on my list but I forgot to add:
From VEI:

Jack and Bobby
Manhunter
(Ken Howard)
Garrisons Gorillas (Owned by Disney, but who knows, maybe VEI will be in the mood to discuss)
Switch ( I know, I know, the masters were destroyed in the Universal fire)
Our Miss Brooks

Sure would like to see My World and Welcome To It. I remember the initial run and I enjoyed the breaking of the 4th wall when Windom would talk to us. I had never seen a show like that and don't think this one was syndicated much as it was a one season series. Really enjoyed the Thurber source material (stories and drawings).

Where do you guys get these ideas from? They've been exclusively licensing CBS titles for several years now so there's no reason they would be dealing elsewhere. But, hey, why let the facts get in the way of a thread.

Garrison's Gorillas is definitely Disney-owned (copyright to Selmur Productions), and was formerly distributed by Worldvision Enterprises (now part of CBS Studios). That is the confusion.

Facts are an ugly reality. I'm probably the one who mentioned those out of CBS titles, but I was hoping that VEI might consider looking at some other older series. It's a dream wish I know. When I was trying to recall which series CBS series might be available only recent ones showed up.

And the made-for-TV movies (aka movies of the week, or MOWs) VEI should work on DVD releases for, while we're discussing Paramount... first these significant ones:
* Seven in Darkness (1969) (first MOW to be both made by Paramount and seen on ABC)
* Assault on the Wayne (1971) (Leonard Nimoy)
* Terror in the Sky (1971) (first Paramount MOW to be seen on CBS)
* Poor Devil (1973) (first Paramount MOW to be seen on NBC)
* Call to Danger (1973) (was to be Peter Graves's next project if CBS did not renew Mission: Impossible for an eighth season)
* Flesh & Blood (1979) (four hours long when with commercials!)
* The Top of the Hill (1980) (first MOW from Paramount syndicated through Operation Prime Time)
* Roman Holiday (1987) (based upon the 1953 theatrical release of the same name)

The rest...
* The Silent Gun (1969)
* Quarantined (1970)
* Weekend of Terror (1970)
* Dr. Cook's Garden (1971)
* Escape (1971)
* Women in Chains (1972)
* Night of Terror (1972)
* The Heist (1972)
* The Weekend Nun (1972)
* Egan (1973)
* Delancey Street: The Crisis Within (1975)
* Law and Order (1976)
* Red Alert (1977)
* Mary Jane Harper Cried Last Night (1977)
* Act of Violence (1979)
* The Girl, the Gold Watch and Everything (1980)
* The Girl, the Gold Watch and Dynamite (1981)
* Shooter (1988)

VEI also did a few Disney/ABC owned shows Grandfathered, The Whispers, and Galavant.

With the Fox/Disney merger rumored to be final next week (March 20), could there be a possibility of Disney/ABC also now handling the Fox tv show catalog?

Assuming VEI's contact at Disney/ABC isn't fired or downsized in this Fox/Disney merger.
