Will passing signals from a dvd player and digital satellite through a vcr degrade the horizontal resolution of the signals to that of a vhs (240i i think?).

If you’re talking about hooking a DVD player up to the VCR via the red/white/yellow cables, should pass the signal pretty much straight through with minimal (if any) degradation. The poor VHS resolution comes when you record the signal to a tape and then play it back.
