What's the "best" software DVD decoder? (I have WinDVD 2.4) Is there a visible difference between displaying 16 bit and 32 bit video? I get some horizontal tearing with 32 bit video. I have more questions, but my mind has gone blank [IMG]

From my current online research, WinDVD has the highest quality playback, with PowerDVD coming in second. I also use WinDVD 2.4, but I didn't relize there was a setting for 16 and 32bit. Where is it?
WinDVD 3.0 was finally released in the US just a couple of days ago. I don't believe there were any major improvements other than supporting DTS sound.

The 16 or 32 bit video is under Display Properties. Does it not affect DVD playback? I was getting some horizontal tearing on Apocalypse Now with 32 bit video, but not 16 bit, although it may have just been a coincedence?

"I don't believe there were any major improvements other than supporting DTS sound."
There is a slight improvement in both sound and image over previous versions/patches.
